Alert Logic Joins Microsoft Active Protections Program

Incorporates the latest security vulnerability research from Microsoft’s Security Response Center

Alert Logic, a provider of on-demand Security-as-a-Service solutions, has announced that it has joined the Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP). Joining MAPP will provide Alert Logic with detailed insight in advance of Microsoft's monthly security updates, enabling Alert Logic to anticipate emerging threats and quickly deploy updates to Alert Logic's vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection and log management solutions. Proactively incorporating this information into the products will help protect customers during the time between the release of security updates and applying them to their systems.

"Our partners share our passion for industry collaboration to protect a world full of Internet users. No one company can accomplish this by itself. That is why we are partnering with Alert Logic to advance and improve security," Dave Forstrom, director of Microsoft's Trustworthy Computing product management.

Alert Logic's internal Security Research team consists of leading experts in the emerging threat landscape and implements that knowledge into the company's products. Already collaborating with other security research leaders, this partnership with Microsoft further augments Alert Logic's visibility into the global threat landscape.

"We are pleased to work together with Microsoft and other security software providers through MAPP to reduce the risk of vulnerabilities to customer networks and applications," said Johnathan Norman, Alert Logic's Director of Security Research. "Early and accurate threat detection is a key component of great customer service, working with Microsoft's MAPP program ensures that we are on top of critical threats."

Alert Logic's participation in MAPP will directly benefit the more than 1,200 enterprise customers that are serviced by Alert Logic or through an IT hosting service provider. Because of Alert Logic's Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model, customers will automatically receive security content updates incorporating the latest threat and vulnerability data developed by Alert Logic's Security Research team. Additionally, the certified security analysts in Alert Logic's 24x7 Security Operations Center will be trained to provide expert guidance and recommendations on addressing the latest threats and vulnerabilities to customers.
